Keeled Box Turtle reproductive successful in captivity

Keeled Box Turtle (Cuora mouhotii) is a native species of Cuc Phuong National Park. Species is distributed mainly in the limestone evergreen forest. Keeled Box Turtle is mainly distributed in areas with altitude from 200 up to 300 m. Keeled Box Turtle as Endangered (EN) is listed in the IUCN Red list of Threatened Species (2012). There are currently only few Keeled Box Turtle individuals still exist in their natural environment. Past several years, Cuc Phuong Turtle Conservation Center (TCC) has played an important role in order to rescue and to protect threatened turtle species in Vietnam. An effort of TCC is reproductive successful 7 Keeled Box Turtle hatchlings on September 12, 2012. The breeding result in captivity is the most successful to date that the Center has been achieved.
