Leave from headquarters and hike to the starting point. In the primary forest you will trek for four to five hours, passing limestone caves and trees over a millennia old. The destination is langur valley in the hope of seeing Cuc Phuong's mascot and one of the rarest primates on the planet.
Lunch, dinner and stay overnight by tent will be provided by the park guide. In the evening you, the national park guide and a local person will re-enter the now pitch black forest and, using a spotting lamp, go in search of the forest's numerous nocturnal creatures, which include civets, owls, flying squirrels, lorises, bats and cats.
After the sounds of the jungle have lulled you to sleep in the safety of your mosquito net, you will awake refreshed and ready for another day of adventure. Hike to reach the Muong village and finally return to the main road for collection by bus or motorbike.
